This is a great snack for your kids. It also makes a good breakfast on the run or a nice treat for car trips. The microwave makes it quick and easy!

Recipe Ingredients

6 cups Corn Chex
2 cups salted peanuts
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup Smart Balance® Blended Butter Sticks, cubed
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 ounce bag dried cranberries

Recipe Steps

In a large microwave safe bowl, mix your cereal and peanuts.

In a small microwave safe bowl, combine syrup, butter, sugar, salt, and nutmeg. Microwave on high for one minute. Stir.

Pour butter mixture over cereal and stir well to make sure the cereal is totally coated.

Microwave on high for 5-6 minutes, stirring after each minute to avoid burning. You want to cook it only until it's lightly browned.

Stir in cranberries.

Let stand in bowl to cool. Stir occasionally to break up large pieces. Store in an airtight container.
