Recipe Ingredients

½ stick Smart Balance Omega-3 Buttery Stick
½ cup brown sugar
4 apples, sliced thick (I used gala)
¼ cup rum
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 cinnamon stick, broken in half

Recipe Steps

Add the butter and brown sugar to a saucepan and melt together over medium heat.

Add the apples, rum, vanilla, salt and cinnamon stick.

Cook at a slow boil for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve right away or let cool in the refrigerator.

I left the skin on my apples but you can peel them if you prefer.
