Recipe Ingredients

1/3 cup Smart Balance® Cooking Oil
6 tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp apple cider
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp light brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp onion powder
3/4 tsp ground chipotle powder
5 tbsp water
3 lbs chicken

Recipe Steps

Pre-heat grill to medium-high heat.

In a small bowl or glass measuring cup, mix the first eleven ingredients until well combined. (You may need to add more water to reach desired consistency. If you want less heat from the chipotle powder, simply use a little less!)

Cook chicken on grill until about 175 degrees, turning once. Baste chicken with barbecue sauce in the last two minutes. Cook until done, 180 degrees.

Cook time: Varies depending on type of chicken used

Makes about 1 cup of barbecue sauce
