Recipe Ingredients

For the salsa:
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup red onion, chopped
1/2 jalapeño, seeded and minced
2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup minced cilantro
1/4 kosher salt
4 plum tomatoes, seeded and diced
1 medium avocado, diced

 

For the pita chips:
5 pita bread pockets
2 tbsp Smart Balance® Cooking Oil
1/8 tsp garlic powder
kosher salt

Recipe Steps

For the salsa:

In a medium bowl, combine the garlic, red onion and jalapeño. Add in the lime juice, cilantro and salt. Mix well.

 

Add in the diced tomatoes and avocado and place in a serving bowl.

 

For the pita chips:

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

 

Brush the tops of the pita bread with Smart Balance® Cooking Oil then sprinkle with garlic powder and salt to taste.

 

Cut each pita bread pocket into 8 pieces by cutting the pita in half, then into fourths and eighths.

 

Lay pieces onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 10 minutes or until crisp.

 

Serve with salsa.
